Control.
I think if we’re honest, most of us have control issues. We want to control what people think of us, we want to control what others think of our kids, we want to control the circumstances around us — all of this can be incredibly stressful!
What if we were to surrender that control? What if we were to admit that we don’t have it figured out, that our kids don’t have it figured out, our circumstances are mostly chaos, and the image of our lives are never Instagram perfect?
There is a God. He is in control. And there is great freedom in relinquishing that control to Him. It’s pretty stressful trying to steer a ship we don’t even have a steering wheel for — but God does.
There is great freedom in admitting that we don’t have control but trusting that there is a God who does have control over everything.
God hears our prayers and He desires to have a relationship with us. Find your freedom in Him and not in the burden of trying to control.
